Finance & Ops Engineer

Soda Game is an AI-driven indie game studio dedicated to Steam. With multiple released titles and Seed funding, our team hails from top tech firms and prestigious universities.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Operations: Manage daily accounting, payroll, monthly closing, and financial consolidation for cross-border entities.

2. Revenue Management: Manage revenue reconciliation and settlement for international platforms (Steam, App Store, Stripe, Xsolla, etc.), ensuring compliance for cross-border fund flows, FCT filings, and withholding tax obligations.

3. Cash Flow & Budgeting: Monitor cash flow, prepare budget forecasts, manage bank accounts, and oversee expense reimbursements to assist in burn rate control.

4. External Liaison: Liaise with external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and prepare financial data for fundraising due diligence.

5. System Implementation: Establish or optimize financial management systems, reimbursement workflows, and asset management processes from 0 to 1 for a lean team.

Requirements

1. Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience with hands-on exposure to cross-border operations (HK/Overseas entities is a must).

2. Regional Compliance: Proficient in Mainland China tax policies and Hong Kong accounting standards, with the ability to handle independent filings in both regions.

3. Tech Startup Context: Experience in knowledge-intensive startups with a clear understanding of R&D and tech-related expense accounting (e.g., SaaS subscription models like OpenAI, Cursor).

4. Tool Proficiency: Proficient in financial software and Excel, with the ability to quickly master collaboration tools like Feishu, Slack, Linear, and Notion.

5. Mindset: Strong "Owner" mindset and the ability to thrive in a high-paced Finance + Ops role within an early-stage startup.

Bonus Points

• Experience in building financial workflows from scratch or participating in VC-led due diligence.

• Work experience in AI, Gaming, or Tech-driven startups.

• Professional working proficiency in English.
